Low voltage and medium voltage switchgear has a maximum service life of 30 to 40 years. As it ages and needs to more frequent servicing, maintenance cost increase to the point where replacement of the entire switchgear becomes unavoidable. An alternative to exchanging the whole switchgear is to replace the components that are subject to wear. This makes it possible to continue using existing intact switchgear with modern technology. By exchanging components, both the investment cost and the time spent on planning and approval are lower than with a completely new system. New generation of protection relays and breaker elements with new trip units improve interruption performance, increase interval required to perform preventive maintenance and improve equipment protection Most of the time the order code and serial number of the phased-out components can help us for providing standard retrofit solutions. In some cases we can offering extensive retrofit solutions for the existing switchgear with the latest version of SF6 or vacuum circuit breakers. In this case, phased-out min-oil or SF6 circuit breakers and primary relays can be renovate with the latest technology such as vacuum and secondary relays.
• Life extension • Technology upgradation • Optimized investment and cost • Speed of execution • Phased execution • increased reliability and performance • Improved safety standards • Improve employee and environmental safety. • Reduced operating and maintenance expenditures • Enhanced reliability • Preserved investment in existing cubicles • Minimization of downtime (shut downs/ outages) • No change of location - foundation not disturbed • Re-routing of power / control cables not required • Easy availability of spares
